Logs

The Logs page in the Communications feature provides two ways to review communication in Spark: the School-wide Communication Log and the Email Log. Use these logs to review communication records, find specific messages or emails, and download records when needed.

School-wide Communication Log

The School-wide Communication Log provides a record of communication sent or logged by staff through Spark. This includes:

  • Messages and conversations: Messages exchanged through Spark's messaging feature.
  • Direct chat messages: Messages sent through direct chats.
  • Logged communication: Records of in-person meetings, phone calls, and other interactions that staff have logged for record-keeping.
  • Behavior incidents: Behavior incidents recorded by teachers and shared with parents.
  • Medical incidents: Medical incidents recorded by teachers and shared with parents.
  • Emails: Emails sent through Spark.

Filtering Logs

Use the available filters to narrow the log and find the records you need. You can filter by:

  • Channel: The type or method of communication.
  • From: The person who initiated the communication.
  • About: The person the communication concerns.
  • Date range: The period when the communication occurred.

You can also use the search bar to find specific log entries.

Downloading Logs

You can download communication logs for record-keeping or review. Only the records included in the currently filtered list will be downloaded. Apply your desired filters before downloading to include only the records you need.

Email Log

The Email Log tab contains a record of emails sent through Spark, including automated emails and emails sent directly by staff. Examples include:

  • Automated emails: Examples include invoice due notices, payment receipts, and form submission notifications.
  • Quick Emails: Direct emails sent using the Quick Email feature.
  • Announcement emails: Emails sent with school announcements.
  • Custom emails: Emails composed and sent by staff.
  • Enrollment status updates: Emails notifying recipients of enrollment status changes.
  • Portal invitations: Emails inviting students, guardians, or other users to access a portal.

Email Batches

Emails are organized as either individual emails or email batches.

  • Individual emails are emails sent to a single recipient.
  • Email batches are groups of emails sent to multiple recipients at once, such as an announcement sent to all guardians or portal invitations sent to multiple students.

This organization makes it easier to review individual emails or locate emails sent as part of a larger batch.

Filtering Email Logs

Use the available filters to narrow the email list by:

  • Sender: The person or account that sent the email.
  • Recipient: The person who received the email.
  • Type: The category of email, such as an announcement or automated notification.

Viewing Emails

You can open an email log entry to view the email's contents. Use the filters to locate the email you want to review, then open it to see what was sent.
