About School Calendar

In this guide, you will learn

  • About the School Calendar
  • How to access the school calendar

Overview

The School Calendar is where admins and staff create both the school year term and calendar events that students, guardians, teachers, or the public may need to see.

Terms define which days school is in session and which are not—such as holidays, breaks, and non-instructional days. Admins can also set up custom day types like field trips, teacher workdays, or testing days. Days are color-coded for quick visuals.

Events can include details like descriptions, document links, or forms, and can optionally require attendance. Visibility settings allow you to choose who can see each event—guardians, students, staff, or the public.

Accessing the School Calendar

Admin & Staff

Admins and staff with calendar access can view all term days and events on the main School Calendar, found on the Admin side of the navigation. It’s also accessible via the small weekly calendar widget on the Dashboard.

Tip: Only events marked as visible to a specific group—teachers, guardians, students, or the public—will appear in their calendars. Admins choose who can see each event when creating it.

Teachers

Teachers can view term day types and events in the Student Planner. The type of term day appears at the top of each day—helpful when deciding what assignments or events to schedule.

Guardians

Guardians can view a read-only version of the calendar on their main Guardian Portal page. They can click on any event to see more details and open linked documents or forms.

Students

Students can view events:

  • In the "Today’s Events" section on their To Do page
  • On the Calendar tab of their portal

Coming Soon: Public Calendar
