Arbor Learning Lab is a farm-based microschool in Rutherford County, TN serving middle and high school students through a hands-on, personalized learning model. Core Academic Studios:
Literacy, math, science, and social studies are taught through multi-age groupings using a mix of direct instruction, independent study, and collaborative projects.

Personalized Learning Plans (ILPs):
Each family and student co-creates an Individualized Learning Plan tailored to their strengths, goals, and interests.

Project-Based Learning:
Students explore meaningful questions and design solutions through interdisciplinary projects that build critical thinking, creativity, and communication skills.

Farm & Nature Integration:
Learning extends beyond the classroom through agricultural education, outdoor labs, sustainability practices, and animal care.

Enrichment & Life Skills:
Students participate in electives like art, entrepreneurship, homesteading, and wellness, preparing them for both college and real life.

Digital Literacy & Safe Technology Use:

Daily Schedule

8:30–9:00 AM – Arrival
Students settle in, connect with peers, and prepare for the day ahead.

9:00–9:20 AM – Morning Meeting & Goal Setting
We gather in circle to set intentions, build community, and launch into the day with clarity and purpose.

9:20–11:00 AM – Morning Work Cycle
Students rotate through core academic studios including Math, Science, and Humanities. This time also includes enrichment opportunities and targeted support through intervention or extension activities.

11:00–11:30 AM – Lunch & Social Time
Students enjoy a relaxed, social lunch—often outside when the weather allows.

11:30–12:15 PM – Recess & Physical Education
Movement, outdoor play, and physical activity provide a reset and keep our minds and bodies healthy.

12:15–2:15 PM – Afternoon Work Cycle & Electives
Learners return to core studios or participate in hands-on electives like art, entrepreneurship, homesteading, or nature-based learning.

2:15–2:45 PM – Journaling, Goal Check-In & Closing Circle
Students reflect on their progress, celebrate accomplishments, and reconnect as a community before the day ends.

2:45–3:00 PM – Responsibilities
Each student contributes to caring for our shared space through daily tasks and routines.

3:00 PM – Dismissal

Our daily rhythm allows for structure without rigidity—empowering students to grow, explore, and thrive.

Admission Process:
At Arbor Learning Lab, we believe in creating a learning environment where students feel seen, valued, and inspired. Our admissions process is designed to ensure a strong fit between each learner and our community.

Here’s how it works:

Submit the Online Application
Complete our student application form and submit the $25 non-refundable application fee.

Family Meeting
After we receive your application, we’ll schedule a family meeting to learn more about your child, share how our program works, and answer your questions.

Student Visit (Optional)
We may invite your child for a trial day or enrichment visit to experience our learning environment in action.

Enrollment Decision
Families will be notified of admission status within 7–10 days after the family meeting. If accepted, you’ll receive an enrollment packet to finalize registration.
Enrollment Fee: $200 is due upon acceptance
Tech & Supply Fee: $250 must be paid before the first day of school (covers

Welcome & Orientation
Once enrolled, your family will be invited to attend an orientation and complete an Individualized Learning Plan (ILP) to tailor your child’s experience.
